Health and Safety

Step By Step Daycare Program has established rules which the children and parents must follow to ensure everyone's health and safety.

If a child becomes a disciplinary problem, he/she may be asked to leave the group activity and take a "Cool Down" period until the childcare provider and the child agrees that he or she can behave in an acceptable manner. At no time will physical punishment be administered.

Each parent will be provided with a "Signs of Illness In Children" handout at the time of enrollment to help parents look out for signs of a sick child.

Should it be necessary for your child to receive medication, the following procedures must be followed:
  1. The parent must fill out the Medication Administration consent Form.
  2. Medicine must be brought in the original container.
  3. The child's name must be on the container.
  4. Clear and concise written directions for administering any medication must be provided by the parent.
